ATT DEPARTMENT

Gregory Newhouse is the Associate Dean / Special Projects Manager of Advanced Transportation Technologies at San Diego Miramar College. He directs the outreach and curriculum development in the area of alternative fuels for the San Diego Community College District. Gregory holds a BA from Westmont College and has worked with the California Energy Commission in Sacramento and was the Executive Director at The San Diego Regional Energy Office.

Reuven Silberman is Miramar's outreach and industry liaison in the fields of Automotive, Aviation and Diesel. Reuven is a graduate of the University of Phoenix. He is a Certified Flight Instructor as well as an A&P. He teaches in Miramar College's aviation Ground School Program. He has been involved in the transportation field for many years.

AVIATION DEPARTMENT
Steve Adams is a graduate from Southwestern College with an A.A. degree; from Miramar College with an A.S. degree; and from San Diego State University with a B.A. degree. He is an accomplished Machinist, Pilot and Airframe / Powerplant Technician. He is the senior instructor for Miramar's Aviation Powerplant Program.

Donald E. Taylor has been the head of the San Diego Community College District Aviation Operations Program and Chief Instructor of the FAA approved Pilot Ground School since 1986. He graduated from Purdue University and was commissioned in the U.S. Navy in 1960. He taught for three years at the University of Minnesota, was a flight and ground instructor, and aviation safety officer. He served in many educational support and supervisory positions. Professor Taylor holds FAA ratings of Airline Transport Pilot, Certified Flight Instructor, CFI - Multi-engine, and CFI -Instrument. Don Taylor is the instructor for Miramar College's Private Pilot Aviation program.

Paul Chlapecka earned his B.S. Degree from Lewis University; a M.B.A. from Lewis University; and an M.A. from United States International University. He is an accomplished Fixed and Rotary Wing Pilot, Airframe / Powerplant Technician. He is the senior instructor for Miramar's Aviation Airframe Program and the Department Chair for Aviation Technology.

Wheeler North graduated from Miramar College with an A.S. Degree, and from Southern Illinois University with a B.S. Degree. He is an accomplished Pilot, A.S.E. Master Technician, Airframe / Powerplant Technician, with Inspection Authorization. He is the junior instructor for Miramar's Aviation Powerplant Program. He is the senior instructor for Miramar's Aviation Computer Laboratory.

Larry Pink graduated from Southern Illinois University with his A.S. Degree and a B.S. Degree; he received a M.S. Degree from Central Missouri State University. He is an accomplished Airframe / Powerplant Technician with Inspection Authorization, and an F.C.C. Radio/Telephone Technician. He is the junior instructor for Miramar's Aviation General Program.

John Shablow graduated from the University of North Dakota with a B.S. Degree; he received an M.A. Degree from the University of North Dakota; and he is an A.S.Q.C. Certified Quality Engineer. He is an accomplished Pilot, and Airframe / Powerplant Technician with Inspection Authorization. He is the senior instructor for Miramar's Aviation General Program.

Jim Weber graduated from California State Polytechnic University with a B.S. Degree; and from United States International University with an M.A. Degree. He is an accomplished Pilot and Flight Instructor, Airframe / Powerplant Technician, and Electronics Guru. He is the senior instructor for Miramar's Aviation Electrical Program. DIESEL DEPARTMENT

Jim Lewis has received his B.V.E. from San Diego State University and is Department Chair of the Diesel Department. He was a journeyman Heavy Duty Diesel Technician before entering the teaching field. He started his diesel career repairing earthmoving equipment in the Arizona copper mining industry. Later he utilized skills learned in the mining industry and moved into the on highway truck repair. Jim has been teaching at Miramar College for the past 19 years. While working as a Diesel Technician Jim performed repairs on engines, transmissions, rear-ends, and brakes. Jim is fluent in Spanish and has a B.V.E. from San Diego State University.

Dan Willkie has an A.S. in Diesel Technology from San Diego Miramar College and coursework towards a B.V.E. at San Diego State University. He has nine years work experience as a diesel truck technician, six years work experience as a field service technician and extensive and varied diesel industry certifications. He also has eight years adjunct teaching experience in Diesel Technology at Miramar College and has participated in curriculum development and program revisions during his assignment. As a master technician in the diesel field, he is also knowledgeable of current industry software and how it can be used to enhance the Diesel Technology program.

Jim Cargill is an instructor for the diesel department and has received both his B.A. and M.A. from the University of San Diego. He also received a M.A. in education from San Diego State University.

AUTOMOTIVE DEPARTMENT

Joe Goodman received his degree from San Diego City College and is an instructor of auto mechanics. Mr. Goodman brings with him many years of experience and knowledge in the field of auto technology and maintenance.

Moe Magoski heads up our Chrysler Apprenticeship Program (CAP) with over 40 years experience. He has received his Masters Equivalence degree at San Diego City College and is certified by Ford, GM, Chrysler, and Toyota. Mr. Magowski is the Automotive Department Chair.

Ray Quon is the Coordinator for the Miramar College T-TEN program. Mr. Quon has over 15 years experience, has his ASE Master Tech and received an A.S. degree from San Diego City College.
